Inspiring Faculty

I have taught for almost twenty years in four diverse Canadian schools. One of the joys of the teaching profession for me has been the opportunity to learn from outstanding teachers. The writers who are selected to teach ESYW courses have proven teaching credentials. That does not necessarily mean that all are accredited teachers, but they have displayed a love and skill for conveying the complexities and joys of their craft to aspiring writers. They are computer savvy and they are superb communicators. They are dedicated to listening, reading and to offering constructive criticism. They have worked hard and they know the dedication and discipline it requires to be a published writer. I am confident that you will find them inspirational. That's why I chose them!

Adrian Hoad-Reddick is the Founder and Creative Director of the ESYW. Adrian is Head of English at a Canadian independent school and he is President of Hoadworks, inc., a new media company that produces websites and multimedia resources promoting literacy and creativity. He is a word game fanatic and his puzzles have been published in Games Magazine, Games' World of Puzzles magazine and on numerous websites (including O'Hare International Airport's education pages). Thousands of subscribers have enjoyed the word games that Adrian published daily via listserver for over eight years. Adrian received a Master of Education degree in Computer Applications in Education from the University of Toronto (OISE) and he has had over fifteen years of teaching experience in four independent schools. Adrian is proud to have been asked to host the last two Elora Writers' Festivals. Adrian is the Graphic Designer, Web Manager and Educational Advisor for What If? Canada's Fiction Magazine for Teens. Adrian lives in Elora with his wife and two children.
